Who Can Apply
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Second- and third-year PhD students in the biological and biomedical sciences
- Students at eligible HHMI institutions across the United States
- International PhD students, beginning with the September 2026 competition
- Students in health-sciences dual-degree PhD programs, including MD-PhD programs
- PhD students applying together with their faculty thesis advisors as mentor-mentee pairs
