Applicants must have completed at least 18 months / 3 semesters of university studies by the time of selection and must remain enrolled as full-time students throughout the studentship. PhD students and PhD holders are not eligible.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

• Be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
• Have completed at least 18 months of studies in the relevant field
• Remain enrolled as a full-time student during the studentship
• Have a good knowledge of English or French
• Not be a PhD student or PhD holder.

Nationality Restriction

For the current round, CERN states that it cannot consider applicants holding nationality from Pakistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus, or Croatia, because recruitment ceilings under the relevant Associate Membership agreements have been reached.

Monthly Allowance

CHF 3,486 net per month

Main Responsibilities

Depending on the selected field, students may:

• Work alongside CERN engineers, technicians, developers, and scientists
• Contribute to ongoing technical and scientific projects
• Assist with design, testing, installation, analysis, maintenance, development, or characterisation
• Apply university knowledge to real technical challenges
• Work in international and multidisciplinary teams.
