Who Can Apply
Applicants are generally expected to hold a Bachelor’s degree and satisfy the admission and English-language requirements for their chosen Master’s programme. Under the previous official scholarship guideline (not yet reconfirmed for 2026/2027), required items included a Bachelor’s degree, passport/ID, CV, an English-language qualification, motivation/application materials, and standard academic documentation.
Eligible Countries (Previous Cycle)
The scholarship has historically not been open to every nationality. The earlier official guideline listed SCO member countries (China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan) plus additional Turkic/CIS and Silk Road-linked countries: Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Mongolia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Israel, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, North Macedonia, South Korea, Spain, United Arab Emirates, and Ukraine. This is a historical list, not a confirmed 2026/2027 eligible-country list. Türkiye was previously included, but Turkish applicants’ eligibility for 2026/2027 should not be assumed until a new announcement is issued. In July 2026 the university reported scholarship-supported Master’s graduates from Malaysia, Indonesia, Tajikistan, China, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and India, showing the programme remains active even without a new public call.
Language Requirements
Under the previous official guideline: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72, or CEFR B2 (applicants who completed their previous degree in English were exempt). The university’s current general admissions information also states English proficiency at B2 level or above is required for full-time study.
Application Requirements (Previous Cycle)
- Passport / ID
- Bachelor’s degree diploma
- CV
- 3×4 photograph
- English-language certificate (unless exempt)
- Motivation/application materials
An earlier version of the process also required an essay on contribution to tourism development in SCO countries. As this has not been reconfirmed for 2026/2027, it should not currently be treated as a definite requirement.
Funding Notes (Previous Official Scheme)
Under the previous official scholarship guideline, recipients received: full exemption from enrollment and tuition fees; a stipend of USD 500/month; USD 100/month toward dormitory expenses; economy-class arrival/departure airfare; two cultural trips within Uzbekistan per year; and a USD 100 allowance per cultural trip. The guideline also referenced 100 scholarships annually. None of these figures have yet been reconfirmed for the 2026/2027 cycle — treat them as historical reference, not a current guarantee.
How to Apply
- Register as an international applicant via the university’s admissions portal.
- Select an eligible Master’s programme.
- Complete the online application.
- Upload the required academic and identification documents.
- Complete any scholarship-specific requirements once the current scholarship call is issued.
- Attend an interview or additional assessment if requested by the admissions committee.
The official admissions portal (admissions.univ-silkroad.uz) currently supports international applicant registration for general Master’s admission. Whether the 2026/2027 government scholarship requires a separate country-level nomination has not yet been officially clarified.
Selection Process (Previous Cycle)
The previous scholarship cycle used online interviews, with the admissions commission able to request additional tests when necessary. Results were communicated after the selection process.
Application Deadline
No official application deadline has been confirmed for the 2026/2027 scholarship cycle. The university’s older scholarship page still displays a 25 August 2024 deadline — that date is historical and should not be treated as current. Applicants should monitor univ-silkroad.uz and admissions.univ-silkroad.uz, or contact the university directly, for the new 2026/2027 call.
