Who Can Apply
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Indiana residents who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens
- Students who currently reside in, or resided in immediately before enrolling in college, Allen, Marion, Lake, St. Joseph, or Vanderburgh County
- First-time undergraduate students admitted to or attending an eligible Indiana institution as full-time students
- Students pursuing or intending to pursue a course of study that enables them to teach in an underserved Indiana county after graduation

Teacher education or another course of study leading to teacher certification and employment in an underserved Indiana county
Selection Criteria
Applicants are assessed on:
- Applicants must be full-time students or plan to enroll full-time.
- Applicants must meet the cumulative GPA required for admission to the institution’s school of education.
- Recipients must agree in writing to apply for a teaching position at a school in an underserved Indiana county after teacher certification.
- If hired, recipients must teach in an underserved Indiana county for at least three years.
- Recipients must reapply each year for renewal and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Recipients must meet any other minimum renewal criteria established by the Commission.

- Written agreement to apply for a teaching position in an underserved Indiana county after teacher certification

Submit the FAFSA through FAFSA.gov. Create a Student ScholarTrack account, log in, select “Apply for State Aid,” and complete the William A. Crawford Minority Teacher Scholarship Application.
