Who Can Apply
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Graduate students enrolled in at least one graduate credit hour in a master’s or doctoral degree program at Kansas State University at the time of application and the event.
- Students who are active in a K-State graduate program may qualify for the summer enrollment exception if their event occurs between the spring final examination period and the start of fall classes.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Students may apply to present K-State graduate research or scholarly/creative work at a professional conference, attend a conference without presenting, or participate in another professional development activity such as a site visit or special training.

Value
- Up to $750 for domestic travel within the United States.
- Up to $1,000 for international travel outside the United States.
- One GSC-funded event per fiscal year, for events beginning July 1, 2026 or later.
Selection Criteria
Applicants are assessed on:
- Awards are competitive and allocated based on points under the stated funding criteria.
- Priority is given to graduate students presenting their K-State graduate research or scholarly/creative work at professional conferences.
- Submitting an application does not guarantee that funding will be awarded.
- Applicants are encouraged to use departmental, college, professional association, and other available funding sources.
How to Apply
Submit the GSC travel funding application at least 21 calendar days before the event start date. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for eligible events with start dates through January 31, 2027. Questions may be directed to gsctravel@ksu.edu.
