The CERN Short-Term Internship 2026 offers full-time students the opportunity to gain 1–6 months of practical experience at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. Nationality Requirement

Applicants must normally be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.

The current 2026 vacancy states that CERN cannot presently consider nationals of Pakistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus, and Croatia for this particular programme because the applicable Associate Membership recruitment ceilings have been reached.

Language Requirement

Applicants need a good working knowledge of:

  • English and/or French

CERN’s working languages are English and French.

Monthly Allowance

CHF 1,593 net per month.

Paid Leave

Interns with contracts lasting 4 months or longer are entitled to paid leave.
