Overview

A French government-supported scholarship for Taiwanese students undertaking master's studies in France during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Eligibility

Taiwanese students or holders of a Taiwanese permanent residence visa may apply.Applicants must meet the admission requirements for a master's degree in France and be admitted or applying to a master's-level program at a recognized French higher education institution.French-taught programs require appropriate French proficiency evidence; English-taught programs require appropriate English proficiency evidence.The program must be located in France and may not be a distance-learning or correspondence course.Applicants may not simultaneously receive two or more French government-funded scholarships.French citizens with dual nationality are not eligible.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Taiwanese students or individuals holding a Taiwanese permanent residence visa.
  • Applicants who meet the admission requirements for a master’s degree in France.
  • Applicants admitted, or currently applying for admission, to a master’s-level program at a French government-recognized public or private higher education institution.
  • Applicants to programs taught in French must provide appropriate French-language proficiency evidence.
  • Applicants to programs taught in English must provide appropriate English-language proficiency evidence.
  • Applicants must study in France; programs located outside France, distance-learning programs and correspondence courses are not eligible.
  • Applicants must not hold two or more scholarships funded by the French government at the same time.
  • French citizens with dual nationality are not eligible.

Fields of Study

Master’s-level programs at recognized public or private higher education institutions in France, including French-Taiwanese dual-degree programs.

Value

  • French government scholarship holder status (boursier du gouvernement français) for the 2026–2027 academic year.
  • Exemption from the Étude en France interview process and fee. Fees already paid are not refundable.
  • Visa fee exemption. Fees already paid are not refundable.
  • Registration fee reduction for eligible institutions under the French Ministry of Higher Education that award national diplomas.
  • Monthly living allowance of €860 provided by Campus France Paris.
  • Assistance from Campus France Paris with the reduction of the CVEC student and campus life contribution.
  • Tuition fees and training costs are not covered and must be paid by the student.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are assessed on:

  • Academic performance.
  • Fit between the selected program and the applicant’s motivation.
  • Alignment between the selected program and the applicant’s future career plans.
  • Two-stage selection process consisting of written application review followed by an interview for shortlisted applicants.
  • Interviews are normally held in Taipei in May; a video interview may be arranged when exceptional research or academic circumstances prevent the applicant from returning to Taiwan.

Required Documents

  • Copy of passport.
  • CV written in French or English, according to the language of instruction.
  • Motivation letter and study plan in French or English, limited to three pages.
  • Highest educational diploma, or a certificate of enrollment for current higher education students.
  • University transcript in French or English.
  • Admission certificate from the French institution, or proof that an admission application is in progress if admission has not been obtained by the application deadline.
  • French-language proficiency certificate such as DELF or DALF, or English-language proficiency certificate such as IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC.
  • Recommendation letter in French or English, sent directly by the recommender to alumni.taipei-bfra@diplomatie.gouv.fr.

Register for and log in to a France Alumni Taïwan account, access the online application page, complete the required information and upload the application documents electronically through the France Alumni Taïwan platform. Applications must be submitted by 23:55 on 31 March 2026. Questions may be directed to alumni.taipei-bfra@diplomatie.gouv.fr.
