Doctoral Networks – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

Doctoral Networks under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions support international partnerships that deliver doctoral training programmes across academic and non-academic sectors.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

• International consortia of universities, research institutions, research infrastructures, businesses, SMEs and other non-academic organisations.
• Consortia must include at least three independent legal entities established in different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, with at least one entity established in an EU Member State.
• Additional organisations from any country in the world may join the consortium.
• PhD candidates can apply separately to funded vacancies advertised by Doctoral Network projects. Specific conditions apply to Industrial and Joint Doctorates.

Fields of Study

Research and innovation areas responding to well-identified needs across academic and non-academic sectors.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are assessed on:

• The consortium must meet the minimum composition requirements involving independent legal entities from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
• Industrial Doctorates require PhD candidates to be jointly supervised by academic and non-academic partners.
• Joint Doctorates require candidates to be enrolled in a joint programme and jointly supervised.
• Applications that received a score below 80% in the previous year are subject to resubmission restrictions.

How to Apply

Eligible organisations should submit a proposal through the Doctoral Networks 2026 call. Candidates seeking PhD positions should consult and apply for vacancies advertised internationally by funded Doctoral Network projects.

The deadline to submit proposals is 24 November 2026 at 17:00 CET.
